Characterization of Dielectric Oils and Development of Sensor Prototypes
The Laboratorio de Investigación en Sistemas Bioinspirados para Tecnologías Eléctricas (LISBTE) is part of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María in Chile.
Since 2014, we have been dedicated to the characterization of insulation systems, developing innovative solutions to enhance the management of electrical equipment.
In this context, we acquired the E-tongue (Alpha MOS ASTREE model) to develop an experimental procedure enabling us to characterize dielectric oils based on their degree and type of contamination (thermal or electrical). Since its installation, we have conducted dozens of tests with various types of oils, achieving results that have been crucial in differentiating samples with different levels of contamination. Additionally, the E-tongue has served as the foundation for developing an experimental sensor prototype, opening new opportunities for applied research in this field.
We highlight the versatility of the equipment, the quality of its components, and the exclusivity of its technology, which have been essential to achieving our objectives. Moreover, the technical support provided by Alpha MOS has been excellent, promptly addressing our inquiries and resolving any issues that have arisen.
“We are highly satisfied with the results achieved and the support received, and we consider the E-tongue an invaluable tool for our research.”
